The Rhododendron Court program provides scholarships for higher education, offers networking and mentoring opportunities to outstanding young women and men, and promotes community outreach and volunteerism. The court serves as ambassadors for the Rhododendron Festival, its history and tradition, and represents both Florence and Mapleton communities.
The Rhododendron Festival High School Court is comprised of 5 outstanding ladies and 5 outstanding men who are selected from Siuslaw and Mapleton High School seniors, as well as homeschoolers who are on track to graduate by June 2025.
After being selected, beginning in January, court members will make appearances at community events, meet with business leaders, and speak at organizations and civic groups. Court members will receive one-on-one mentorship and will showcase their talents in the Rhododendron Coronation on Saturday, May 10th where they will compete for the title of Queen Rhododendra and King of the Coast!
All senior court members receive scholarships. *Note: participation in both the coronation and grand floral parade on Sunday are requirements for scholarship.

Junior Princesses serve a special role on our court. Each junior princess will be paired with a senior princess. Our senior princesses help to serve as mentors and are asked to help our juniors as we serve as ambassadors over the couple of month leading up to Rhody Days!
